LOCATION :

Ban Bo Thong, 22 km north of Chiang Rai and 6 km south of Mae Chan, 1.5 km inland from the main highway (no 1) that connects Chiang Rai with Mae Sai, the border with Myanmar .

HOW TO GET THERE :

We can pick you up in Chiang Rai (town or airport) or in Mae Chan for a small fee or you take public transport from any of the 2 towns to Ban Bo Thong and we pick you up at the entrance of the village. If you drive yourself from Chiang Rai north, you'll be passing an SOS Children Village after about 20 km, from there slow down and look for our sign at the the entrance of Ban Bo Thong. From Bangkok you can either fly to Chiang Rai (Thai Airways And a few budget airlines serve the route) or take the night bus from Morchit bus station to Chiang Rai or Mae Sai (ask to get dropped off at Ban Bo Thong), the trip is comfortable, starts in the evening and takes about 12 hours.

• AVOID TRAVELLING BY BUS ON OR AROUND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS !!.

Also from Pattaya there is a daily direct night bus service to Chiang Rai, leaving at 5 p.m. (13 hours).
